Coloured asphalt

Coloured asphalt represents the latest technology for the execution of coloured, ecological paving. This is a special modified coloured synthetic and/or polysynthetic plastic binder with high adhesiveness and resistance to low temperatures, suitable for the construction of bicycle paths, pavements, delimiting play areas, landscaped areas, recreational areas, tennis courts and car parks.

On request, SIBA produces coloured Sibit with the same properties as traditional bitumen, obtained using specific dyes that allow greater resistance and durability against wear and weathering; the final laying of coloured asphalt is very fast but also more economical, without affecting road surface performance.

SIBA coloured asphalt is made with the most innovative and recent technologies in the field of road bitumen creation, also able to produce ecological coloured asphalt, consisting of a water-based solvent-free emulsion that eliminates many harmful substances in the air and respects the surrounding environment without causing damage.

The various types of coloured asphalt also include the so-called albino bitumen, characterised by a lighter colour that puts greater emphasis on the sand and crushed stone with which it is mixed to create a more “transparent” road surface.

Due to the higher cost and particularity of Sibit, this type of bitumen is not recommended to cover municipal and very wide roads, while it is appropriate to embellish small roads of high artistic or tourist value (small villages, farms): the use of albino bitumen can enhance the aesthetic value of a historically important road.
